Christmas is fast approaching
As Christmas is fast approaching and the seed catalogues are in, it dawns on me that there are very few fruit suppliers in Canada. Seed sellers and nusery's stock the basic raspberry, blue berry and strawberry with the odd black berry, but Sea Buckthorn, Currants, Josta, Lingon, Saskatoon, exotics are hard to find, may or many not come with variety information and vary wildly from supplier to supplier. Looks like 6-8 suppliers to get the best assortment of only 12 species and 18 varieties. In the US, one or two suppliers with an incredible variety of species. May be room for our little nursery in a couple of years after all.

Creating a community
It has taken several years of discussions between family stakeholders, friends and our seasonal employees but the paperwork for incorporating our family farm as a Cooperative is complete. Submitting them before the christmas holiday 2010 and hope to formalize the coop with our first general meeting in the new year.
